Get to Know Our New Trainer: Pen
We’re so excited to welcome Pen Eins to the DediKate trainer team!
Pen is a qualified Personal Trainer and Mat Pilates Instructor based just outside Warren in Central West NSW, where she lives on a small farm with her husband Ulrich and their three children, Imkeh, Zander and Liandi.
With a love of rural life, sport, strength training, Pilates and helping women feel good in their bodies, Pen brings such a beautiful mix of energy, encouragement and down-to-earth realness to DediKate.
Life on the Farm
Pen and her family live on a small farm, so life is busy, outdoorsy and full of animals!
Alongside three kids, they have two dogs, Rodney the Border Collie and Pepper the Jack Russell, a rabbit called Peter, some guinea fowl and a horse called Chexs. So, don’t be surprised if one of the dogs makes a guest appearance in a workout video from time to time.
Outside of training, Pen’s family loves spending time outdoors, whether that’s kids’ sport, helping Dad on the farm, sitting around the fire or cooking marshmallows.
Why Pen Became a Trainer
For Pen, becoming a trainer has always been about helping people move, get fitter and feel better.
She loves watching someone push themselves, build confidence and accomplish something they once thought might be out of reach. Encouraging people, sharing her knowledge and supporting others with their health and fitness is something that brings her a lot of joy.
And that’s exactly the kind of energy she’ll be bringing to DediKate.
What Members Can Expect
Pen describes her sessions as encouraging, friendly and full of good energy.
You can expect a bubbly personality, lots of support and a familiar, comfortable space where you feel encouraged to give things a go. Her goal is to deliver quality sessions that help drive you, support you and remind you that you’re capable of more than you think.
Pen’s areas of focus include:
- HIIT
- Strength training
- Hypertrophy training
- Pilates
- Exercising with purpose
- Building strength, mobility and fitness as we age
Pen’s Approach to Health and Fitness
Pen is all about balance.
She loves to push herself, set goals and work hard, but she also knows that life is busy and motivation isn’t always there. Over the years, she has learnt that consistency matters most, and that the journey is so much more fulfilling when you’re kind to yourself.
**Her reminder?**Exercise isn’t punishment. It’s a way of showing gratitude and love to yourself.
We love that.
What She’d Say to Someone Starting Out
If you’re nervous about starting or getting back into exercise, Pen’s advice is simple:
Start small, but start.
Find a form of movement you enjoy, give yourself a chance and remember that you don’t need to do everything perfectly to make progress. Small steps really do add up.
A Few Fun Facts About Pen
Pen grew up playing a lot of sport and still loves running, swimming, netball and weight training. She also studied Agriculture at College and loves competing in camp drafting when she gets the chance.
Her favourite post-workout refuel? A protein smoothie in summer, or eggs and avo on toast. You can’t beat it.
And her guilty pleasure? Being clean and organised. In Pen’s words, some of her friends think she may have “a slight problem” with it. Ha ha.
Welcome to DediKate, Pen!
We’re so thrilled to have Pen joining the team and can’t wait for you to move with her.
She brings warmth, energy, real-life experience and a huge passion for helping women, especially rural and remote women, access quality fitness and feel strong in their own bodies.
Keep an eye out for Pen’s sessions on DediKate, and be sure to give her a big warm welcome when you see her pop up on your screen! Her first one goes live on Sunday 31 May!
